Trust in Transition

Transition is a normal part of life. Change is inevitable. Necessary at times. But often uncomfortable and unwanted because it leads you into the unknown, into unfamiliar territory. Many times, we grieve this process of transition but it requires us to let go of some things, whether that be people, places, or old mindsets. As creatures of habit, we have a hard time letting go of what we’ve become accustomed to and we gravitate towards what we know, even if what we’re used to is unhealthy and toxic. If we’re honest, most of us like to play it safe.
But real growth and transformation can only take place if we’re willing to let go of those things and old habits that no longer serve us (meaningless tradition, negative mindset and self-talk, unrighteous judgment, unforgiveness etc).
Matthew 9:17 (NLT) says, “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the old skins would burst from the pressure, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine is stored in new wineskins so that both are preserved.”
If we try to carry old baggage into a new season, opportunity, or relationship in our life, it’s bound to burst and cause unnecessary damage to the new thing God desires to do in our lives. In order to protect and not sabotage God’s good plans for our lives, we have to allow Him to transform us by renewing our minds. Let Him remove the old wineskin of our mind and heart and give us a fresh one. Trust Him in the Transition.
Stay encouraged!
